Fair point about the white van, although I still have trouble imagining people just cruising around in a van looking for furniture to nick; it might make sense if they'd been organised and had known in advance that it was there, but I dunno, getting hold of the van strikes me as a lot of hassle to go to on spec.
Don't forget people like builders et al who'd have such a van and could be working in the area. Not all of them are trustworthy and honest unfortunately.
