And so it begins
Don't expect to see a great deal here to begin with; I already maintain an online diary on Monochrome, where I go by the name anakin.

What I hope to start doing at some stage is to mirror the same diary text into that diary and this one, so that users of either system can keep up with me. Unfortunately, I'm a perfectionist and there are all sorts of entertaining little formatting issues to get straight before I feel comfortable doing that.

Until then, this journal is largely a placeholder, and also an LJ identity for posting to comments pages. But watch this space: I do hope to do something with it at some point.

Who put that there? :)

Didn't realise you'd finally bitten the bittern (or something) and got a journal..

Re: <doubletakes>
I dunno, I think you realised pretty quickly. It's only existed for two hours! :-)

Re: <doubletakes>
Sheer chance, then - slacking today, are you? ;)

And I think I've found a formatting bug - look what happened to the angle brackets in the subject line of your reply. Wonder if that's your hacks or LJ :)

Re: <doubletakes>
Yes, I've reported the bug already. (It's no hack of mine - I've done nothing technically weird at all! Yet :-)

I think it's two bugs actually. When I clicked on Reply, the input box for the subject line came up with the angle brackets turned into entity references, in spite of the warning just below it saying "No HTML allowed in subject". I thought that was odd, so I was careful to use the preview feature before posting - and in the preview the entities turned back into angle brackets, so I assumed everything was all right. Yet when I then hit Submit, it came out wrong in the real comment. So the preview page misrepresents what the real comment will look like, and the setup of the posting page for replies does something odd. I've reported both problems.

But enough of the geeking ... what do you mean, me slacking? You're the one who picked up this journal only two hours after it was created! :-P

Re: <doubletakes>
Hmph! I've been running round like a blue-arsed fly after assorted network d00m for the last week, and this week I'm moving house. I think I deserve a little spod time. Besides which, sitting here dressed in black alternating between furious bursts of typing and staring morosely into my monitor for several minutes at a time is good for my BOFH image ;)

Re: <doubletakes>
Ah, but you noticed her noticing only 4 minutes after she mentioned it, which is rather faster than two hours. So you must be slacking more.

Me, I'm having lunch so that's OK.

Ah, I turned that off, so I tend to forget about it.

Hiya. I'd just like to state at this point that I'm working really hard at the moment and no comment to the contrary will be entertained.

Can't a comment to the contrary at least be mildly amused? >:->

It can be amused if it wants, but don't expect me to make the effort on its behalf. I'm . . . err . . . working too hard. Or something. Anyway, I left the juggling balls and groucho glasses at home.

Ahh, that is you. It occurred to me a couple of weeks ago that it might be, but I haven't seen you to ask.

Re: Waah, another one!
The very same :) I wonder if it's rude to catch up with old friends on the comments of someone else's livejournal?

Re: Waah, another one!
I think I can confidently say "Who cares?"

2 more people I can (hopefully, in due course) keep track of and vaguely in touch with, though. Good news from where I'm standing.

Clearly, it must be time to go someplace else. All you people are invading this place I've been all safe in for a year now. :)
