I feel bad for not coming over. But since Richard's on holiday and going back tomorrow I felt liek I ought to make the most of him being around.

Eek! Sounds as if there was a misunderstanding there. When I phoned you, I wasn't intending to invite you over - if nothing else, you might have caught my cold if you'd come here. I just thought I'd natter at you telephonically for a bit, to relieve my boredom and (as it might have been) yours. When you turned out not to be bored, that was entirely fair enough.
