A slightly busier than usual weekend. Started off with a visiting Catbells, although this didn't really count as busy since we mostly sprawled in my living room nattering about random stuff and playing games. Around fiveish I checked the net to see if anyone had decided to organise a party, and finding none decided to do it myself. This was a smallish but perfectly serviceable affair, and had the added benefit of reassuring my subconscious that it is possible for me to throw a party without collapsing in a hysterical fit afterwards due to stress.

On Sunday, after driving Dave back to the station, I headed to Jesus Green, where James had decided it would be fun to have a picnic with added Frisbees. Since Chris turned up, there were also added juggling clubs, which was nice :-) I carefully prepared by slathering every inch of exposed skin with Factor 50, but unfortunately in my obsessive concern with the UV I'd reckoned without the actual heat. This got to me rather more than I'd have expected, and I found myself feeling absolutely awful while walking back home afterwards; listless and icky well beyond the usual limits of dehydration. Might have been borderline heat exhaustion, or some such. Fortunately the next plan was to go and sit in my reasonably cool living room in the dark and watch Doctor Who for two hours, and that combined with a large bowl of ice cream and an honestly ludicrous quantity of iced water made me feel practically human again. Phew.

...reassuring my subconscious that it is possible for me to throw a party without collapsing in a hysterical fit afterwards...

I was supplying hysterical sound-effects, though....
