Well, that was a fun and largely beer-filled weekend.
On Friday I went to the Milton Road housewarming (odd that I've got so used to houses having names that I find myself at a bit of a loss as to whether to describe this house as ‘Milton Road’ or ‘ex-H103’ or ‘Ben and Jacob and Jon and Kirsten's’ or what), where I drank beer and saw people I rarely see otherwise, which was nice. I bailed out at roughly the point when the last of the small knots of people not playing I Have Never dissolved, since although I normally don't mind IHN as a game I didn't feel like starting to play it at 2am when I was supposed to be trying to pace myself for the next party :-)
On Saturday, as planned, I went to the next party, which was the Last Ever Greenend Party, where (just for a change) I drank beer, which was nice (in fact, nicer, since timeplease was in charge of beer and Did It Right). I enjoyed the party despite the various people who seemed to be getting upset or already being upset (*hugs* again to you all), and it sounds from
lark_ascending's writeup as if I bailed out just in time to avoid the real chaos involving massive beer spillage and people falling over.
On Sunday Mum unexpectedly turned up to visit (well, not completely unexpectedly – she had at least warned me a day or so earlier :-) and we met in a pub, where I decided that was more than enough beer for one weekend and drank orange juice instead. I'm not entirely convinced I'll be able to look a pint in the face this Thursday either…
