Well, most of the move seems to have gone quite well in fact. I'm sitting in the new flat right now, and writing this through my just-activated cable modem connection. NTL appear to have done the right thing for once :-)

Still a few things to be moved, though, and a lot of unpacking to do. But none of that should be a serious problem – all the big stuff came here today at the hands of the removal men. Special mention goes to my huge Wardrobe-O-Death, which they had to take completely apart to get up the stairs in the new flat, causing my brain to start singing ‘Right, said Fred’ until I hit it.

So, now NTL have been and gone and I don't have to wait in the house for them any more, I think I shall toddle back over to the old place for a car-load of stuff and then order myself a well-deserved pizza. And tomorrow it's back to work, on the grounds that (I conjecture after trying it last time) taking an entire week off to move house is actually more exhausting than going straight back to work. At least this way I'll get to sit down for a couple of days before I do any more heavy lifting :-)
