We moved from a second-floor maisonette to a ground-floor house a year ago, and I too am still very much appreciating it. Not so much the solid floor and lack of creaking (I haven't noticed that - I think our block of flats was purpose-built and fairly solid) but the ability to step outdoors quickly and easily, the ability to get shopping or luggage inside without having to go up several flights of stairs, and the ability to run noisy machines like the washing machine overnight without getting complaints from downstairs.
