Many of them were at school, certainly. But you might be surprised to find that you can encounter people of this stripe within a computer company! Mostly not on the engineering side, but even among the engineers one can find a few people who not only hang it all on the hook when they go home (which is fine, of course) but see themselves as morally superior to the likes of me for doing so.

Sadly, there's also a lot of computer industry "employees" that feel like disengaging their brains is part of their daily jobs. I'm pretty sure you're talking about them, too.
