Bah. Back to the drawing board.
One of the inside pockets of my big black coat has detached itself from the lining, again. Last Wednesday I fixed it using a patch of iron-on adhesive fabric, which worked very well to begin with but after just under a week has now unstuck itself again. This leaves me, once again, with nowhere in my coat to keep my gloves.
I'm annoyed about this. I'm particularly annoyed because the design seems so totally silly to begin with; why is the pocket only supported by the really thin silky lining of the coat? Pockets are there to have things put in them. At least anchor them to something solid, so they have the structural strength to fulfil their purpose...
I might try and find someone to mend the thing professionally, now that the only plausible amateur approach has failed. The big problem is that I've been trying to resist the temptation to buy another long black coat, and now that this one is going to have to go in for servicing the temptation will be doubled. Bah.
