Exchanged contracts at last. Barring last-minute bizarre banking incidents, meteorite strikes, and other fairly extreme Acts of Murphy, I become a homeowner a week from tomorrow :-)
The primary problem is that I'm moving out of a furnished flat, so I lack several important things because my current ones belong to the landlord: fridge, freezer, washing machine, dining table, sofa. So my plan is to buy all of those; borrow an easily portable armchair from my mum to tide me over until the sofa actually shows up (the lead time is far too long to wait before moving in); also run network cables through the house (probably easier while it's empty); and once all that's done, ring up some removal people and ask when they can fit me in. I'd guess it'll be two or three weeks after completion, but that's only a guess.
(a) I was planning to use the same removal people I used last time, and the time before that; they generally manage more like a week.
(b) I have to give two months' notice on my current rented flat anyway, so even if I do need a month's notice for removals then I can cope with that :-)
The source of tea hasn't disappeared yet; it'll probably be a couple of weeks at least before I get round to moving, or more if I decide to do emergency redecoration first. (At least one of the rooms is severely in need of it; thermonuclear rehabilitation might be the only way to be sure.)
But if it helps, I'll think tea in your direction every so often. :-)
Heh - I'm afraid I'll probably not be free at a mutually convenient time, alas.[1]
Good luck with the decoration; I shall treasure the thoughts of tea; when I may, I shall invite you to partake of tea of mine own. :p
[1] Or, phrased differently, "Madam regrets to inform you that she will be unable to impose on your hospitality and time". Er. I do realise that my previous comment was awfully presumptuous.
