‘Do you know what time it is?’

Outside the window of this office we have some builders applying loud power tools to a big hole in the car park. I keep getting an urge to open the window and shout ‘KEEP THE NOISE DOWN, DON'T YOU REALISE IT'S THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY?’.

(Fortunately, the window doesn't open, which relieves me of the need to rely on my self-control.)

I had to google that. Apparently I have been asleep inside the planet of Magrathea for five million years.

I'm trying to imagine *their* blogs. I'm confused, do we expect

"I don't know! None of us had a watch, so we started turning up the pneumatic tools, and do you know no-one leant out of a window and shouted 'KEEP THE NOISE DOWN, DON'T YOU KNOW IT'S [TIME]?' It's like they hadn't even read that joke."

Living the jokes
Hello... Helen here, friend of 1ngi. I believe she may have mentioned that I had been reading your LJ.

Anyway, just wanted to say how amused I was by this experience of living the joke. I ordered some blinds recently, and had to resist the urge to find a nun and get in to the bath with her at the exact time the chap was due round to fit them.

The sad thing is when I'm trying to sleep during the day because of my shifts that's exactly the kind of thing I want to yell.

I get amazingly irate at outside noise and then I realise that they're allowed to go about their ordinary business and I'm the freak that's trying to sleep in the middle of the day.

And today I'm feeling the need to have a go at the … well, I guess from the sound it's a salsa band in front of Great St. Mary's. I dread to think what [livejournal.com profile] addedentry's former colleagues in Caius library make of it.
