Prue came round this evening, for dinner and more Scrabble. After being beaten by one point and then again by two points in previous games, I was mildly worried that she might win again by three or four; but in fact my honour was thoroughly satisfied, as I won one game by a convincing enough 21 points and the other by a perhaps excessively smug 55. (I managed to empty my entire hand in one go for the first time ever, and the 50-point bonus from that was pretty much unassailable.)

I suppose I'd better go and wash up now. (That's the trouble with guests. If I'd been on my own I'd have washed up straight after dinner and not have it still to do…)
