*yawn*

So, back at work as of yesterday. I'm not sure that holiday went entirely as planned; on the one hand, I'd intended to do several specific things (visiting people, being visited by people, getting drunk at two Callings, doing some useful stuff, going to Eastercon) and all of this actually got done, but on the other hand I'd also intended to get a lot of restoring rest and this was largely eclipsed by my appalling cold. Which is still causing minor sniffles after a week and a bit; gaah.

On the plus side, I have a SHINY NEW TOY, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] dreamingchristi who decided her cheap digicam was slightly too cheap for her taste and sold it to me. Not entirely sure what I'll use it for yet; I'm not a compulsive snapper-of-everything as some people seem to be, and I certainly wouldn't want to (for example) take infinite photos at every party I go to. But every so often something unusual happens which makes me think ‘oh, if only I had a camera right now’; I can't actually remember what any of these have been, but now the next time one comes up I'll be prepared. Whatever it is.

Today is also my last day of being 25. It looks as if I'm not going to have room for a celebration since the entire weekend has already been booked for [livejournal.com profile] j4's birthday, but on the other hand I can't usually be bothered anyway so perhaps it's just as well :-)

Ooh, flappy wopday for tomorrow then :) I'd almost forgotten that.

Speaking of 'wish I had a camera' moments we had a lovely one in the server room yesterday - Paul the head sysadmin holding a Cisco router on top of his head, staring upwards with the most comical worried look on his face I've seen in years, as Richard our office Unix guru scowled over his shoulder and wielded a screwdriver trying to get the thing properly mounted in the rack :) It would ahve made a lovely pic to put on the 'This is the job we do' page..

Richard made quite a lot of huffing and puffing and remarks about intimate positions before he got on with it, it must be said :)

I'm sorry if I stole your birthday weekend! I didn't realise it was your birthday! I have no brain. :-/ Still, come and be birthday-hugged anyway tonight/tomorrow...
