Memo to self. If excessive mugger paranoia causes you to remove all credit cards and cashcards from your wallet before going out to get drunk, it then becomes three times as important to ensure you have enough cash to get drunk on, because without cashcards you have no means of correcting any errors on that score.

Fortunately, three different people bought me drinks, which was very nice of them. Next Calling I must arrange to have enough cash on me that I can not only get drunk myself but return the favours.

Generally had a good time, though; if anything it erred on the side of there being too many people there who I wanted to spend time with, which meant I couldn't spend as much time with any given one as I might have liked. This is only a very mild problem, though, and certainly preferable to sitting around moping because there aren't enough people to talk to! And other than that, it was a generally fun evening with lots of nice people and hugs and stuff, and it made such a nice change to be practically able to get drunk at a Calling that I almost don't mind the mild hangover I have today.

There was a paragraph in the big article on knife muggings in today's CEN which I think must have been referring to you. *hugs* glad you had a good time, and I hope you start feeling less nervous soon.

Are you sure you had the CEN through your door and into the recycling box? The CEN normally costs 35p...

The CWN article isn't quite the same as the CEN one. I think there've been more incidents since then which is why the CEN was reporting again, and it did refer to an earlier article. The paragraph in the CWN is more obviously you though :-)

I think they're sister papers, and the CWN often runs things which appeared in the CEN earlier in the week.
