Ho hum. Wandered along to the Calling last night, but felt inexplicably mopey. Perhaps there weren't quite as many people I knew there as usual; perhaps I had a slight attack of the singles and the attractive women throwing themselves around the dance floor didn't help; perhaps I was just feeling generically mopey for no particular reason. Whatever the case, I bailed out early as usual, and in fine Calling cliche I went home and did something unwise with a kitchen knife.

Of course, where I departed from fine Calling cliche was that the only unwise thing I did with the knife was to use it to cut myself a small piece of nice cheese in the hope that it would lift my mood. And I've never been entirely convinced that eating cheese just before going to bed is as unwise as it's claimed to be; it's certainly never given me the nightmares it's traditionally supposed to. Still, it might help make me fat and unhealthy, so perhaps that's unwise enough to count :-)
