I'm not sure I can judge the nature of the meowling. My period of actual cat co-ownership was about nine years ago now, so the memories are a bit hazy... But it could have been a request for entry and food, I suppose. Though quite where it got the idea that it would be in any way non-futile to make such a request at this house, I'm not sure.
