Reminding myself of things by leaving them next to other things generally doesn't quite work for me. Leaving them on top so that it actually inconveniences me works better, but under my alarm clock would be a very strange place to keep anything, let alone a toothbrush! :-)

Anyway, the other extra features of my new high-tech alarm clock are useful as well. In particular, I eventually plan to tie it in to my online calendar application, so that when I tell my calendar I have two weeks off work, my alarm clock automatically assumes it won't be required to do anything during that time. Handy for bank holidays too (about which I'm chronically absent-minded).
