Whew. It's been a pretty hectic week.

Pizza as usual on Monday; Tuesday evening was spent round at Prue's tinkering with her computer and losing at Scrabble. On Wednesday I re-watched Matrix Reloaded, on the grounds that it was bound to be much more fun if I knew in advance that I didn't need to pay serious attention to the really tedious speechy bits; and indeed it was. Thursday was a repeat of Tuesday only more so (see previous Scrabble rant), and on Friday night I went round to Owen's to swap PS2 cables around in the hope of making his picture non-ghastly (successful) and to watch my Casablanca DVD (spectacularly unsuccessful, owing to first the PS2's Green Screen phenomenon and then the DVD being duff; eventually we had to finish watching it on Owen's VHS copy).

After that hectic week I clearly needed a weekend of doing exactly nothing. Therefore, of course, I volunteered to drive to Oxford yesterday for [livejournal.com profile] hilarityallen's birthday picnic. This seemed slightly insane, but paled into insignificance beside Ben's achievement, which was to do exactly the same thing but by bicycle. Ouch.

Still, the picnic went well and was fun, and I got home in good time to get a decent night's sleep, and this week the Gallery's usual Doctor Who showing is postponed which means I actually have a good chance of doing a high degree of nothing today as required. Except for the infinite pile of laundry, of course. And I might go shopping after that, if I feel energetic…

I am a duhbrain

There is no other word to describe what I've just managed to do.

Shutting a car door, with one hand, on the other hand is easy enough to do, although the average human being doesn't do it very many times before learning not to.

But I have just managed to shut a car door with my left hand, and have it trap my left arm in the process. I didn't know that was even possible.

Clearly I am supremely competent at being supremely incompetent. Oh, and ouch.
