For some months now I've had to hit it before turning it on in order to make the display work properly. I've been meaning to get a new one ever since this started to happen, but not got round to it.

Gradually, the ferocity and violence I've had to apply has increased, until in the pub last night I had to thwack it so hard that a barperson came running through from the other room to make sure nobody had started a fight! And I also hit the thing so hard I bruised a knuckle really painfully.

When you start having to fight your phone to make it work, that's the first warning that you need a new one. When it starts winning, I think that's the last straw. Tomorrow I shall go shopping.
