I set out to walk to Tesco at lunchtime in reasonably still air with perhaps two or three snowflakes drifting down out of an otherwise inactive sky, and about two minutes before I got there it suddenly turned into a horrid howling blizzard, with snow coming down as if there were no tomorrow and wind chill nearly sufficient to freeze my ears off. Very pretty weather to look at from the inside of a nice warm building, but not the least bit nice to be out in.

Perhaps the weather god is upset at my mild threat yesterday. However, I can't help feeling that being outstandingly unpleasant to me two days running is unlikely to make me any better disposed to him.

(The really scary thing, when I got back to the office, was the smokers cheerfully standing around outside the back door getting frantically snown and blown on. Now that's dedication to your addiction.)
