Cool! I seem to be able to sew semi-competently. :-)

I got up this morning, wandered around in my dressing gown, and decided to have a go with my new Astrojax, and found that in a baggy-sleeved dressing gown it's almost impossible to use the things at all because the one at the far end of the string kept landing in my sleeve and bringing the motion of the things to a comical halt.

So I decided enough was enough, gathered up my sewing kit, and finally got round to what I've been planning to do for months if not years, which is to cut up the sleeves of my dressing gown and sew them back together with a load less slack. Now they narrow down to the size of ordinary sleeves at the end, which means that I can do useful things without the sleeves getting in the way all the time and draping themselves over anything that goes past (be it Astrojax, computer hardware, toast covered in honey or anything else inconvenient).

Amazingly, it looks as if I didn't hopelessly mess it up, which I was rather expecting to since this is by far the most ambitious piece of sewing I've ever attempted. So I'm feeling quite smug now :-)
