Phew. Well, this has turned out to be a week of accomplishments.
I appear to have solved my looming deadline problems at work, which is cool. I've sorted out a livejournal and a means to only write one set of diary entries, which is also cool. And completely by accident this evening I discovered how to stop my PlayStation copy of Rainbow Islands from crashing, which is almost unimaginably cool.
(Only almost, though. It seems that the crash is not related to the fifth island as I'd thought, but to the big whizzy power-up you pick up right at the end of the fourth. Solution: don't pick up that power-up. Not completely ideal - that power-up would be very useful in the fifth island in particular - but if it means there's the slightest chance I might be able to play right through and finally finish the game then I'm up for giving it a try. I only discovered this this evening, because I looked at the clock and decided that since I was supposed to be meeting people in a pub soon I'd just rush through island four blasting everything instead of taking care to get the power-up, and to my surprise island five then didn't crash and so I played that too and was even later. D'oh!)
And I've just got back from a post-film gathering, having watched Minority Report. I think I can say without fear of spoilers that the people in the police department in the film must have played some serious snooker after hours :-)
Now I appear to have a headache, a neckache and a shoulder-ache all at once, which probably means I should go and sleep.
