Well, there's one to add to my silly collection of weapons fantasies.

I'm sure plenty of people fantasise, in various situations, about how nice it would be if they happened to have a weapon of some sort. Mine are usually silly, and almost never involve violence to humans. For example, the thing that really makes me want a lightsaber is when there's a hedge that needs trimming (usually someone else's, protruding on to a pavement and getting in my way), and the one thing that's ever made me wish I had a machine gun is when I see a balloon seller carrying a huge cloud of brightly coloured airborne targets on strings. <ratatatat> *POP* *POP* *POPOPOPOP* *POP* :-)

This afternoon I found the perfect situation in which it would be nice to have Emperor Palpatine's blue lightning available: when there's a fast-moving fly in the room which can't or won't make use of the open window. Raise a finger; *fzzzt*; fly drops to floor. It'd just be so useful.
