So Luke and Darth Vader are having their lightsaber duel in Cloud City, and Vader is just about to reveal Luke's parentage and offer him co-rulership of the Galaxy…

… but at that point he might perfectly well have thought ‘oh, sod it’ and just killed him. Easier dead than son.

He's right. It's pronounced "Tay-tham", with the th unvoiced (as in "think", as opposed to voiced as in "this").

(However, other branches of the family tree have been known to pronounce it differently, just to be helpful :-)
