I've been saying this around the Gallery for a while and they're probably sick of hearing it, but: I'm fairly sure watching The West Wing has permanently changed the rhythm with which I drum my fingers.

I occasionally wonder if this happens to everyone who watches it. If so, you'd be able to pick out other fans during boring meetings and exchange subliminal recognition signals. What a silly idea.

Actually, the one that did it for me was listening incessantly to "Song of the plains" from Adiemus 2, part fo Karl Jenkins' Adiemus project. It has a relatively complex clap pattern that solos at the beginning of the song and continues throughout it along with very complex percussion that increaingly makes itself heard in the song. As an aside, when that song is performed live, it needs 9 perscussionists just to keep up.

Anyway, since learning the clap rhythm, that's what I unconsciously drum my fingers to.

I possibly do. I randomly hit things with a rhythm now and again, it might sometimes be West Wing for all I know.

I am going to find Adiemus and listen to it. Must do.
